X-Battalion is a codename given to a group of students who are called into temporary field duty to assist the X-Men when all
of the regular agents are already on assignment. Basing out of the Massachusetts branch of the Xavier School for the Gifted,
the team answers to Headmistress Emma Frost.
The first X-Battalion was formed two years ago. Five senior students were given field duty to investigate a series of
mutant disappearances. Eventually recruiting another member in combat, the six trailed the clues and uncovered a mass conspiracy
that led to the Hellfire Club. After several skirmishes the team was victorious and returned to the mansion, and eventually
disbanded into various other organizations around the world.
However, recent events have used up all available resources, and has called for Ms. Frost to select a group of students
to form a new X-Battalion.
